During late 1940s - 1980s Poland’s greatest artists designed posters to promote the state-owned cultural output. This included film, music, theatre, opera, exhibition, tourism and circus posters.

All of our vintage posters are authentic originals from Poland. Our modern prints are fully authorised limited editions, printed with kind permission from the artists and their heirs. We are able to source most vintage poster designs on request - so even if a poster is listed as sold, do get in touch as we’d be delighted to track it down for you.

Flisak, Jerzy | 1973/2022 | El Dorado

We are super proud to have produced this official Projekt 26 limited edition B2 reprint (c.200), which was printed in Poland with kind permission from Jerzy Flisak’s family.

Here’s one mighty cowboy who’ll bring a smile to your face day in, day out. Jerzy Flisak designed this bold witty Polish film poster in 1973 for the American Western ‘El Dorado’ starring Robert Mitchum and John Wayne. In Poland Western symbols were often used in poster art to convey violence as a negative force.

Flisak, Jerzy | 1977 | The Little Prince

This is a super charming vintage Polish film poster designed by the legendary Jerzy Flisak for children’s story classic ‘The Little Prince’. It is an original poster from 1977. Really special for a baby or child’s bedroom but sadly it’s becoming increasingly hard to find.

The copy available is A1 size but the poster was printed in two sizes

Polish A1 size: 58 x 83 cm

Condition: please note this copy has a very small white mark near the right corner. There’s also some discolouration from the printing process so the price has been reduced to reflect that.

Flisak, Jerzy | 1966 | The Cook

This is a super charming illustrative poster designed in 1966 by the legendary Polish artist Jerzy Flisak for the Polish cinema release of The Cook (Milosne Klopoty/Stryapukha). The movie was a Russian production directed by Edmond Keosayan and starring
Svetlana Svetlichnaya, Lyudmila Khityaeva and Inna Churikova.

Onegin Dabrowski, Andrzej | 1966 | The Roundabout

We absolutely adore this 1966 Polish film poster by Andrzej Onegin Dabrowski. He designed is for the Yugoslavian psychological drama romance ‘Rondo’ (The Roundabout) which was directed by Zvonimir Berković, starring Stevo Zigon, Milena Dravić and Relja Basic.

Lipinski, Eryk | 1957 | New Guinea

This is a very special from one of the absolute masters of the Polish School of Posters Eryk Lipinski. He designed this original vintage film poster in 1957 for the Polish cinema release of Swedish documentary film ‘Nowa Gwinea Ostatni Ludozercy’ (New Guinea Last Cannibals) directed by Jens Bjerre.

Kozniewska, Anna | 1967 | There - There

This is a very rare and beautiful Polish poster from 1967 by Anna Kozniewska, a striking example of mid-century Polish poster art. She designed it for the opera There–There (Tam–Tam), written by Tadeusz Polanowski and directed by Lech Komarnicki, and it captures the production’s dramatic mood with bold, expressive imagery.

Gorka, Wiktor | 1967 | The Tenth Victim

We absolutely love this mysterious poster by legend of the Polish School of Posters Wiktor Gorka. He designed it in 1967 for an Italian/French sci-fi production ‘Dziesiata Ofiara’ (La Decima Vittima/The Tenth Victim). It was based on a novel by Robert Sheckley, directed by Elio Petri and starred Marcello Mastroianni, Ursula Andress and Elsa Martinelli.

Stachurski, Marian | 1958 | Sitting Pretty

This is a very special and rare original 1958 Polish poster ‘Sitting Pretty’ (Gosposia do Wszystkiego) by an incredible artist from the Polish School of Posters, Marian Stachurski. He designed many posters during the 50s and 60s especially and this is a great example of his strong mid-century aesthetic.

Erol, Jakub | 1973 | The Grandmaster

Wow. This original 1973 Polish poster is a power piece by Jakub Erol for Russian film directed by Siergiej Mikaelian ‘Arcymistrz’ (The Grandmaster).

Pagowski, Andrzej | 1980 | The Legacy

This is a rather scary, yet wonderful poster by third generation Polish School of Posters artist Andrzej Pagowski. He designed it in 1980 for a British film ‘The Legacy’ (Dziedzictwo) directed by Richard Marquand, starring Katherine Ross and Sam Elliott.

Cieslewicz, Roman | 1963 | Father Mark

This is an absolutely breathtaking 1963 Polish theatre poster by one of the most highly acclaimed artists from the Polish School of Posters, Roman Cieslewicz. He design it for a play by Juliusz Slowacki ‘Ksiadz Marek’ (Father Mark) at the Teatr Dramatyczny in Warsaw.

Starowieyski, Franciszek | 1967 | The Phantom of Morrisville

This is a very beautiful poster by Franciszek Starowieyski, created in 1967 for the 1966 Czechoslovakian film The Phantom of Morrisville (Upior z Morrisville). Starowieyski’s striking design captures the film’s eerie, absurd atmosphere and reflects his distinctive, surreal graphic language. The movie was directed by Borivoj Zeman and stars Oldrich Novy and Kveta Fialova, whose performances are echoed in the poster’s dramatic composition.
